CAO Guide to Notices of Change

All condominium corporations are legally required to file an online notice of change with the Condominium Authority of Ontario when information filed in a condo return has changed or needs to be corrected, according to Section 9.3 (1) of the Condo Act.

When to file a notice of change?

Consult the overview of the notice of change requirements for a list of changes which trigger the requirement to file.

Mandatory questions

There are several mandatory questions at the bottom of the notice of change form that appear before submitting.

The condo corporation must report any activity regarding the condo property’s sale, expropriation or if the Act no longer applies to the property.

Special notice of change

You must fill out a special notice of change form to change or correct certain information you have previously filed. This includes information such as the number of units or voting units, adding phases for a phased condo corporation, or correcting the date that the condo corporation was registered at the Land Registry Office.
