The jurisdiction stated with Records disputes, and expanded in 2020 to include governing document disputes related to Pets, Vehicles, Parking and Storage. In 2022 it expanded to include condo nuisances such as noise, light, smoke, vapour, odour, vibration and related charges.

Decisions & Orders Released in 2025-26

The Tribunal is required to publish its decisions and orders. Decisions contain the reasons and orders at the close of mediation. Consent orders are used when the parties agree to make the terms of a settlement agreement a binding order. Motion orders explain procedural rulings that are issued before the final decision. The Tribunal’s decisions and consent orders are binding, and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice can enforce them if not followed by parties.

Stage Closed Distribution

CAT cases closed by stage from 2017 to March 2026. Nearly two-thirds of CAT cases are resolved through Negotiation or Mediation.
