Condominium Authority of Ontario set to launch new condo director training program this November

Get ready for Director Training 2.0 – an important and newly enhanced consumer protection initiative that will continue to support condo communities, strengthen governance and better equip directors to be stewards of condo owners’ investments.

This November marks the seven-year milestone since the inception of CAO’s director training and we’re taking the opportunity to enhance the program for even greater impact. The new mandatory training program is based on valuable feedback from the condo sector and merges CAO’s current foundational training with our advanced training. It will feature new modules, expanded practical tips and tools, as well as an updated knowledge assessment to ensure all learners gain fresh and relevant knowledge and directors are more prepared for their roles.

All active directors must complete the training within six months of being elected to their board and retake training every seven years.

The CAO will ensure a seamless transition for all learners who partially complete the current training before November. Your progress will be transferred to the new training program and you’ll be credited for the work you’ve done. No need to start over!

Anyone can continue to take the training for no cost at their own pace.
