2025–26 CAO Annual Report Now Available

Sep 8, 2026 | 2 min read

The Condominium Authority of Ontario released its 2025–2026 Annual Report, providing an overview of its work and results over the past fiscal year.

More than 1.92 million Ontarians live in condos and rely on CAO for clear information, practical education and accessible, cost-effective dispute resolution.

The report highlights how CAO supported them while working with directors, managers, sector partners and government to strengthen condo governance.

Supporting Ontario’s condo communities

From April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, CAO continued to improve its services while responding to the changing needs of Ontario’s condo sector.

Consumer protection is a key part of this work. 99 per cent of condo corporations filed their annual condo return, exceeding CAO’s 95 per cent target. These returns help keep key data about condo corporations current on the public Condo Registry, which gives owners, residents and prospective buyers important information about targeted condo corporations.

The Registry is the most popular web page on the CAO’s website and was a key contributor to it being visited by over 635,000 unique visitors this year, the most ever.

Our team responded to more than 31,700 inquiries by phone and email, while improvements to online resources made it easier for clients to find information and navigate common condo issues.

The Condominium Authority Tribunal accepted 371 cases and issued 233 orders and decisions. Ninety-two per cent of decisions and orders were released within 30 days of case conclusions, exceeding its 90 per cent target.

We also continued to engage with condo communities and sector partners through events, educational sessions, roundtables, and advisory panels. This work gives owners, directors, managers and other sector partners opportunities to share feedback and helps CAO identify emerging issues and improve its services.

These are just some of the highlights from the 2025–2026 Annual Report. The full report provides a detailed look at CAO’s activities, performance, governance, and financial results.

Looking ahead

Ontario’s condo sector continues to evolve, with changes to the Condominium Act and the upcoming expansion of CAT’s jurisdiction. We will continue to use data, sector feedback and performance results to guide its work, strengthen services, and support consumer protection.
