Heather Zordel, Chair
(Ministerial Appointment: 3 year term – November 2021 to 2024)
Heather Zordel is a corporate and securities lawyer with more than 30 years of experience, including as a partner in private practice, a lawyer at the Toronto Stock Exchange, and as a board and Tribunal member of the Ontario Securities Commission.
Ms. Zordel’s practice includes corporate governance and financing, and mergers and acquisitions for listed and private companies and investment funds, corporate restructurings, regulatory compliance for registrants, and condominium law.
Ms. Zordel has board experience with a large reporting issuer, regulatory agencies including as a Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario, not-for-profits, Crown corporations, and a condominium corporation. She has experience with high level committees and in developing public policy, including a plan for a national securities regulator. She is currently Chair of the Condominium Authority of Ontario, which includes the Condominium Authority Tribunal. She is also a member of the Board and Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee for the Toronto Hydro Corporation and Chair of its subsidiary for non-regulated activities, as well as a former Co-director and continuing Adjunct Professor for the Osgoode LL.M. program in Securities Law.
Ms. Zordel has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and a LL.B./J.D./LL.M. (Securities) from Osgoode Hall Law School, and is an ICD member.
