Guide to Conducting Owners’ Meetings During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented many difficult challenges across all sectors in the province. One of the most pressing for the condo sector has been the inability to hold in-person owners’ meetings. To help solve this problem, we have created Conducting Owners Meetings During the COVID-19 Pandemic: What Owners and Directors Need to Know (the Guide).

We developed the Guide to help condo corporations across the province understand their options for holding owners’ meetings, as well as ways to navigate the health and safety restrictions outlined by public health officials when having these meetings.

What does the Guide cover?

The Guide’s primary focus is the planning and execution of telephonic and electronic owners’ meetings for condo corporations who do not already have a telephonic or electronic meeting and voting by-law. If your condo corporation already has a telephonic or electronic meeting and voting by-law, then it must continue to adhere to the provisions of that by-law.

The Guide also touches upon safe alternative methods of meeting in-person, if holding a completely telephonic or electronic meeting is not the right option for your condo corporation.
